There is a growing movement that is trying to paint Israel as the world’s worst oppressor of Christians, as well as increasing attacks on Christian Zionism. These are demonic attempts to turn the hearts of Christians against Israel and against the God that we serve.
Pastor John Hagee, the Founder and Chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), has challenged these lies.
“For the true Jew-haters, Christian Zionism has been correctly perceived as the bulwark against the rise of American antisemitism. As Israel’s Minister for Strategic Affairs [Ron Dermer] has pointed out, Christian Zionism is the backbone of American support for Israel,” he told Fox News.
“Those who hate Israel and want to see it destroyed understand that the Jewish-Christian alliance prevents them from achieving their terrible aims; it’s logical then that they would seek to drive a wedge between Jews and Christians. Our relationship is a direct and unequivocal refutation of their evil ideology and aims,” Hagee said.
Pastor Hagee also challenged online influencers who are peddling anti-Israel views for clout.
“The true narcissists, regardless of politics, will pursue relevance through antisemitic contrarianism if they perceive themselves to be slipping from the world’s stage. Tragically, trafficking in antisemitism is one of the shortest paths to infamy,” he said.
Pastor Hagee also warned that these anti-Israel content creators are working “to the exclusive benefit of Palestinian terrorists.”
Prominent self-proclaimed Christians are making videos to promote the hatred of Israel, which is in direct conflict with God’s Word. These videos are largely filled with comments from Muslims and non-believers who are supporting anti-Israel and antisemitic views. Most shameful is that people who do this are spreading this hatred in Christ’s name when all it does is amplify the lies of the terrorists and spread an ungodly and un-Christian message.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also recently spoke out against the attacks on Christian Zionism and the attempt to paint Israel as the oppressor of Christianity.
Netanyahu said there was a concerted effort to “break down” the bond between Christians and Jews.
“As part of this campaign,” he continued, “Israel is now being portrayed as a threat to Christians.”
“The partnership that promotes Judeo-Christian values, that protects Israel’s Christians as nowhere else in the Middle East. That truth is being reversed,” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu reiterated that Israel is home to a thriving Christian community — unique in a region where Christians often face persecution. He pointed to Nazareth as a place where Christian life is visible and open, contrasting it with Bethlehem, where the Christian population declined sharply — from 80% to under 20% — after Israel withdrew, and the Palestinian Authority assumed control, leading to reduced protections for the community.
“So, Israel, the guardian of Christianity in the Middle East, is presented on American television by purchased influencers. It’s presented as the enemy of Christianity. What folly, what lies. What a travesty of truth,” Netanyahu said.
“We must fight for our common values, we must stand up for the truth. And by standing up for the truth, you stand up with Israel, and you stand with the Jewish people against this abomination of falsehoods,” he concluded.
Last week, Tucker Carlson, who is increasingly hosting anti-Israel commentators, hosted Mother Agapia Stephanopoulous, who spoke lies against Israel and distorted the Word of God.
She claimed that Islamist oppression of Christians throughout the Middle East was actually the cause of Israel. She said it was part of the “Greater Israel” project, the conspiracy that Israel is trying to expand and take over the Middle East. She made the absurd claim that Israel controlled the Muslim world into persecuting Christians.
Christians are being persecuted around the world, and the Jews are being blamed. It is a lie from the pit of hell.
Open Doors, a Christian charity that monitors Christian persecution throughout the world, produces a World Watch List every year. In 2025, it lists almost every Islamic country and all Middle Eastern countries, except Israel, as countries where Christians are persecuted, not because of Israel, but because of radical Islam.
Here is a map of the top 50 countries persecuting Christians. Israel is a tiny dot on the map that is not listed in red or orange, because Israel is not persecuting Christians.
The full list of countries is named here. It includes almost every Muslim nation, along with Communist countries and dictatorships. It does not include the world’s only Jewish state.
Israel being blamed for Christian persecution by so-called Christians is the most absurd twisting of reality. But it is not new when it comes to the attacks against Israel.
The enemy is always twisting reality. Here are some examples:
- Israel has conducted a war against Hamas that has resulted in one of the lowest civilian casualty rates in modern warfare. In response, Israel is the only country accused of conducting ‘genocide’.
- Israel has provided more food and humanitarian aid to an enemy population than any other country in history. In response, Israel is accused of ‘starving’ the Palestinians.
- Israel is one of the safest places for Christians in the world, and the only safe place for Christians in the Middle East. In response, Israel is accused of coordinating all Christian persecution in the region.
The lies of Satan are running rampant around the world, and so-called Christians are joining in the chorus of accusation against the truth. We said last week that they are the mouthpieces of Satan, and it is becoming even clearer that this is the case.
These people have been duped. But there is nothing new under the sun:
“With cunning they scheme against Your people and conspire against those You cherish, saying, ‘Come,’ they say, ‘let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.’ For with one mind they plot together, they form an alliance against You.” (Psalm 83:4)
This 3,000-year-old Psalm is just as relevant today as it was when it was first written.
The enemies of Israel are acting with ‘one mind’. They are being led by Satan and seek to destroy Israel. They may succeed in turning the world against Israel, but they will never destroy Israel.
Christians and Jews – God’s people – will stand on Biblical truth and declare that God is the defender of Israel.
