Last month the UK, France, Germany and other EU states voted in a UN resolution that singled out Israel at the annual assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO) as the only violator of human rights in the world.
While even our own country’s representatives may have been fooled by the report, which was put together by the Palestinian Authority, it appears that certain elements of it are not only wrong, but could have been deliberately falsified in an attempt to smear Israel.
According to YNet, Israel is now challenging the accuracy of the report and saying that the World Health Organisation has been duped by the Palestinian Authority.
The watchdog CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) and the pro-Israel blog Isreallycool documented a series of instances in which the report by the Palestinian Authority’s Health Ministry seemingly included photos with misleading descriptions to assert Israeli violations of Palestinian rights.
One image shows a soldier inside an ambulance and is captioned, “Israeli occupation soldiers search the interior of a Palestinian ambulance.” The image is actually of an Israeli Ambulance and an IDF medic inside, seemingly helping a victim.

This is the image from the UN report which shows a croped image, which appears to cut out the Jewish ‘Star of David’ emblem on the back of the Israeli ambulance and is instead fasley labelled.
The caption in another picture describes a scenario in which “settlers attack a Palestinian child while being observed by Israeli occupation forces.” However, CAMERA and Israellycool claim the photograph, which was taken by a photographer for Agence France Presse and belongs to Getty Images, actually features an Israeli child being pulled by Israeli security forces from Jewish residents of the outpost of Havat Gilad, with no Palestinians in the picture.
There are other pictures and accusations within the report that are also falsified in order to give a negative impression of Israel. Read more here.
“Instead of compiling a professional and objective report, the WHO is being used by those whose only interest is to harm the State of Israel,” said Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the UN. “They are doing so even when this means that they are creating an alternative reality and disseminating vicious lies.”
We must continue to pray that the United Nations and World Health Organisation turn away from the lies and hate. The lies are in plain sight of everyone, and instead of condemning the report for being false, Israel is instead falsely condemned.
