We call upon the UK Government to launch an independent investigation into the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to ensure that its journalistic integrity is upheld and that British license fee payers’ money is not being used to promote Hamas propaganda or indirectly support an outlawed terrorist organisation.

The British public deserves impartial news from its national broadcaster—not agenda-driven reporting that distorts the reality of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The BBC has a glaring blind spot when it comes to Hamas. Hamas is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK, comparable to ISIS. The BBC would never give ISIS a platform, yet pro-Hamas narratives are repeatedly aired without scrutiny. Worse still, the BBC may have breached anti-terror laws through financial dealings with Hamas-linked individuals and its dissemination of Hamas propaganda.

At best, this is reckless journalism. At worst, it is a deliberate effort to manipulate public perception. The BBC’s biased reporting fuels hostility, particularly against the Jewish community, at a time when antisemitism in the UK is at record levels. This is a dangerous betrayal of public trust and must not go unchallenged.

Under the Terrorism Act 2008, promoting or raising support for a designated terrorist organisation—whether intentional or not—is a criminal offence. Additionally, Sections 15-18 of the Terrorism Act 2000 prohibit providing financial resources to terrorist groups, directly or indirectly. If the BBC has made payments to Hamas supporters or family members of Hamas officials, it may have committed a serious criminal breach.

The BBC could also be in violation of Section 5 of Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code, which mandates accuracy and impartiality in news coverage. Evidence suggests that a BBC documentary manipulated reality through scripted content and added sound effects, failing to meet the standards of ethical and accurate journalism.

The BBC prides itself on being a trusted news source. Yet, by uncritically amplifying Hamas’s narratives and statistics, the BBC is betraying the public’s trust.

The UK Government must act now.

We demand an independent investigation into the BBC to hold it accountable, restore integrity and impartiality in its reporting, and ensure that no public funds are used to legitimise terrorist propaganda or financially benefit individuals linked to outlawed terror groups.

Simply put, the BBC must stop violating its own code of conduct, stop breaching Ofcom’s regulations, and avoid breaking British anti-terror laws.
