“Hear the word of the Lord, you nations;
proclaim it in distant coastlands:
‘He who scattered Israel will gather them
and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’
For the Lord will deliver Jacob
and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they.
They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion;
they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 31:10-12)
We want our nation to hear the word of the Lord, just as it is above. God is the one who gathered His people and is returning them to Israel. God is the one who comforts His people and protects them. There is nothing the UK or any other nation can do to stop God’s plans. They will return to the land, and they will possess the land once again!
Our desire is to see our nation showing love for Israel. Importantly, we’re focusing our message on the Church, because if anyone can get it, it’s those who are seeking God’s will. Thankfully, more Christians are coming to understand the Biblical truth about Israel and are seeing it from God’s perspective.
God loves His people. He will never forsake us, Israel and the Church, and the example of His longstanding promises to Israel still holding true to this day is a reassurance to the Church that God will never break His promises to us either.
With this in mind, here are the prayer points for this week.
Pray for the UK government: Prime Minister Andy Burnham and his government need our prayers. We may not agree with everything they do, but we must honour God’s command to pray for those in authority over us. The current trajectory of our government is that they will be harsher with Israel than previous governments, and this is deeply troubling. We pray that they will turn away from the wickedness of boycotts and sanctions against Israel. We pray that Israel will be honoured and blessed by Britain. And that the government will do more to protect Jews in Britain, which includes not cowering to those who support terror against Israel.
Pray that the Church will arise in Britain: We see a number of ways in which Christians are standing up for Biblical truth against the lies and deceptions that are so prevalent in our culture. The established Church is far gone from where it should be. The Kairos Palestine documents are not the problem as much as they’re a symptom of a far greater problem. The Church has been overrun by Replacement Theology and has abandoned Biblical truth. We need to pray that the grassroots movement of Christian Zionism will continue to grow in our churches. That churches big and small will reconnect with their Jewish roots. And that God will be glorified first and foremost in our pulpits and that this will lead to a revival in this land. Britain’s stand with Israel begins with the Church.
Pray for CUFI at Big Church Festival: CUFI is hosting a stand at the Big Church Festival this weekend in West Sussex. Around 40,000 Christians are gathering at this event, and we pray that we will be able to meet with many of them and share God’s love for Israel with them. Last year we were so encouraged by all the new people we met. We also had some opposition. Pray for the CUFI team as they interact with Christians from around the UK. Pray for their protection, for wisdom, and for God to open hearts to our message. (Also, for good weather!)
Pray for CUFI UK: We need your prayers at this time to help sustain us through a busy period. Our work is growing, and our small team is often stretched in many different directions. Please pray for protection over our team, for wisdom, and that we will approach each day with renewed vigour to do more for Israel and the Jewish people. We also need to see an increase in our finances as our costs are increasing, so please pray for this. We are trusting God for His provision, and He has never let us down. He blesses those who bless Israel, and CUFI is no exception! Hallelujah!
