“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…”
(2 Corinthians 10:3-5a)
The USA is once again at war with the Iranian regime. We never held fire with our prayers during the tentative ceasefire, and we must remain steadfast in prayer as the battle rages.
Admittedly, we were concerned by the messaging coming from the White House over the past few weeks, where it appeared Israel would have to go it alone in battle against Iran and its terror proxies, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon.
CUFI warned that no deal is better than a bad deal, that Israel’s enemies are not America’s friends, and that the Ayatollahs cannot be trusted. We believe them when they say they want to wipe out the ‘Little Satan’ (Israel) and then destroy the ‘Great Satan’ (USA).
Thankfully, it seems President Trump has woken up to the reality.
As America celebrated 250 years, the Iranian regime was burying its former Supreme Leader and chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Trump”. Israel knows to take Iran at its word. They don’t hide their ambitions, and they are hell-bent on trying to succeed in these goals.
This is why we must be both “sober minded and watchful” (1 Peter 5:8) and to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). America is at war with Iran, Israel is at war with Hezbollah, and we are at war with the principalities and powers that stand against God and His people.
Prayer Points
Protection for President Trump: Israel uncovered an Iranian plot to assassinate President Trump and shared this intelligence with their US allies. It seems there are real efforts to cause harm to the President. We are praying for protection physically, mentally, and spiritually for President Donald Trump as he stands as the leader of America and as a friend of Israel.
God Bless America: The USA celebrated its 250th anniversary this month, and we want to pray a blessing over the United States, which stands today as a Christian nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles and as Israel’s closest friend. We pray that God will continue to bless America. We pray that Christianity will be front and centre in every aspect of American life. And we pray that the Church will be influential on the decision makers at the highest levels of government. We also pray for protection and blessing upon America’s military as they go to war against the militants of Iran.
The IDF in Lebanon: We are continuing to pray for Israel as it battles Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon. Hezbollah uses the same terror tactics as Hamas, using civilians as human shields, using terror tunnels under civilian infrastructure and more. We pray for wisdom and courage for the IDF as they battle this evil. May God’s hand of protection be on every IDF soldier in southern Lebanon.
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem: We always desire peace in these situations, but the enemies of God continue to undermine Israel and must be dealt with. We pray that there will be a sense of safety and peace for Israel even during these conflicts. We ask God to continue to bless and protect Israel and her people, to prosper the Israeli economy, and to continue to help Israelis in finding new ways to be a blessing to the world through their innovations and discoveries. We pray for God’s blessing on Israel, and of course, for the peace of Jerusalem.
