This week we give praise for Israel’s protection from a major Hezbollah rocket attack on Sunday. The Israeli Air Force prevented a major attack by striking Hezbollah launch pads that were about to be fired imminently into northern and central Israel. Hezbollah did fire 200 rockets and 20 drones, but it was only a fraction of what Hezbollah had planned. The IDF not only saved many lives, but also prevented a full-scale war with Hezbollah. Continue to pray for Israel as the threat of further attacks by Hezbollah, or a direct attack from Iran, remains plausible.
We also give thanks for the safe rescue of Qaid Farhan Alkadi, an Israeli Arab who was taken captive by Hamas on October 7th. Israel’s rejoicing over the rescue of this Israeli Muslim man, and his embracing of the Jewish nation of which he is a citizen, is a demonstration of Israel’s heart and a hard pill to swallow for the enemies of Israel, who lie about Jewish-Arab relations in Israel and the fabricated ‘apartheid’ smear. Pray for the safe return of all 104 remaining hostages (some of whom, tragically, have died in captivity).
The IDF has just completed a three-week raid in southern Gaza in which 250 Hamas terrorists were killed and 6km of tunnels destroyed. The bodies of six hostages, which we mentioned in last week’s prayer, were recovered in the operation. Pray for the IDF as they move onto the next operation in Gaza.
Anti-terror operations have also been conducted this week in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). During the operation, Israeli forces killed a Hamas leader and two additional terrorists. The operation has received concerned reactions from various international players, including from the UK. Pray for Israel’s protection, especially as a Hamas leader has this week urged for suicide attacks in Judea and Samaria.
Psalm 121:4 says, “Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” We can have full assurance that the Lord is watching over Israel. Let us place our complete trust in Him as we seek God for Israel’s deliverance from its enemies.
