You have been called to the kingdom for such a time as this.
You have been called to the kingdom to be like Mordecai – a watchman on the walls. Ear to the ground. Eyes to observe the threats. When hearing about the threat towards the Jewish people, its like your heart tears in two. Like when Jesus wept over Jerusalem, you observe what is happening to the Jewish people today with a broken heart. You mourn with them in their distress. What can I do Lord? What can I do? (Esther 4)
You have been called to the kingdom like Hathak – Esther’s attendant. You have seen the evidence of Israel’s enemies’ plans. You’ve agreed to obey the instruction to pass on the warning. To faithfully pass on the message. To ensure the truth is heard by those who need to hear it. (Esther 4)
You have been called to the kingdom like Esther – your priority response is to kneel in prayer. You have sought the Lord and encouraged others to do so too. You know Israel will be helped by others even if not by you, but that doesn’t change the call of God upon your life. You know your responsibility. You know to Whom you are answerable. So you have vowed to speak out come what may. You know God will give you the courage. And others will come alongside you and see your fearlessness. (Esther 5)
You have been called to the kingdom like King Xerxes. Once no better than those who are against the Jewish people. But you are not the person you once was. God has spoken. You have heard His people cry. You have ordered the Book and heard it read. You have asked how can I do what is pleasing, and the reply you received was “save My people”. There’s no going back. You have conviction to be faithful to His people until the Lord makes their enemies His footstool. (Esther 6,7)
“Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
