Christians United for Israel UK (CUFI) is asking Christians to stand together in a special Christian Pledge for Israel. Launched 100 days since the genocidal attack on the Jewish people on 7th October, we want to provide Christians with an opportunity to recommit their stand with Israel and the Jewish people.
This Pledge will remain open for the whole year, so please help us share it far and wide. We want to gather as many pledges as possible to show the overwhelming Christian support for Israel in this nation.
We invite you to make a personal declaration of support by adding your name to show that the Jewish people have overwhelming Christian support at this time.
The Christian Pledge for Israel wording:
“As a Christian, I stand on the authority of God’s Word concerning the nation of Israel and the Land given to the Jewish people as an everlasting covenant. Therefore, I will bless Israel with my words and actions. I refuse to be silent in witnessing the evil of antisemitism and stand in solidarity with the Jewish people worldwide. I will seek to be a beacon of truth for Israel in my church, my community and my nation. I will pray for the peace of Jerusalem and speak words of blessing upon the Jewish people, declaring: “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Because I am a Christian, I stand with Israel.”
In 1939, the church in Germany failed in standing up to the Jew-hatred that was openly flaunted resulting in devastating consequences. It was largely silent, and at worse, complicit. Some, however, were brave enough to speak out, including the courageous German pastor, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who said, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
Over six million Jews were murdered by 1945. Thankfully, Israel will not allow the same to be repeated. But in 2024 we have a lot of work to do to make sure that antisemitism is uprooted from this nation. Jews in this country need your support. Israel needs your support. And the future of Great Britain needs Christians to be courageous.
