The Bible calls us to “watch over Jerusalem”. At Christians United for Israel UK, we feel called to take up this mandate and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Furthermore, over the past few months we have also urged supporters to challenge the UK government and UN by making a stand for Jerusalem as the undivided, eternal, capital of Israel.
Today, we give thanks that the United Kingdom was one of ten countries that voted against a UNESCO resolution that effectively denies Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem. Described as “fake history” by the Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, the resolution that coincided with Israel’s Independence Day sadly passed. Nevertheless, we take encouragement that the voices defending Israel, and defending truth, are beginning to be heard.
There is still much to do, but through your support and prayers, we believe that CUFI-UK can be an effective mouthpiece for such a time as this. It is after all God’s heart for Jerusalem to be “a praise in the earth”.
This year marks 50 years since the reunification of Jerusalem. To mark the importance of this “jubilee year”, we have produced a commemorative Jerusalem 50 poster that we are offering as a gift with any donation during this period.
