The chaos that ensued in Parliament this week has exposed the fear over MPs’ security. Pray for the safety of all MPs; pray also that these threats will not stop politicians from speaking out in support of Israel. We need politicians who will stand firm and speak boldly against the evil of Hamas.

The former Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, said this week that Islamists and antisemites are now in charge of the country. We should not take this warning lightly. As MPs were debating the SNP motion calling for a ceasefire, pro-Palestinian protesters were projected the genocidal slogan, ‘From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free’ onto Big Ben (the Elizabeth Tower) as police stood by and watched. The Jew-hatred that has been allowed to fester in this country is a development that should concern the nation. Let us pray that the antisemitic spirit that seems to be spreading free rein is stopped in its tracks.

A nation’s attitude towards Israel is like a temperature reading of the moral and spiritual climate. Yet, at this time it is apparent that there are politicians that condemn Hamas in one breath, but do not want Israel to win. They call for Israel to stop fighting a war that it didn’t start, and yet don’t seem as convicted about Hamas being removed. Remember, the Bible says that Jerusalem is like a ‘heavy stone’ (Zech 12:3) to the nations. No wonder the attempt to pass a resolution pitched against Israel caused our Parliament to descend into chaos. Let us pray for the UK and pray for Israel.
