Proverbs 11:1-3 says, “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight. When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.”

A report published this week proves that the data supplied by Hamas regarding Gaza casualties is simply not true. Yes, non-combatants are dying in Gaza, but analysts have now broken down the figures and found major inconsistencies with the “metronomically linearity” of the dailly tallies that suggest they are simply not true. There are inconsistencies with women and children ratios and remarkably hardly any non-combatant men casulties, meaning either every man in Gaza is a terrorist or somehow Israel is only killing women, children and terrorists and managing to avoid civilian men. In other words, Hamas’s numbers cannot be trusted. But, then again, who would actually trust a terrorist group to provide accurate data?

The answer to that question is deeply worrying. The media runs its narrative on these figures. The numbers are used to demonise Israel every single day. The anti-Israel movement uses them to accuse Israel of genocide. World leaders use them as the premise to call for a ceasefire. Even the president of the US is quoted as saying the Palestinians can be trusted with the number.

Pray about the ongoing problem of propaganda against Israel. Sadly, the figures are used to demonise Israel whilst the plight of the hostages still being held captive by Hamas is deliberately overlooked by those who call for an unconditional ceasefire. For example, we saw this week those who used the Oscars to call for a ceasefire, yet wore a pin-badge that was linked to so-called ‘Palestinian resistance’ with links to a Palestinian terror attack during the Second Intifada in 2000.

Truth matters. So let us pray that the world will wake up to the lies perpetrated by Hamas. Pray that world leaders will not form policy based on Hamas’s deceit, but will listen Israel’s side and be open for correction. Let us pray that Hamas will NOT be succeed in turning attention away from the Israeli hostages. Pray for every man, woman and child that is being held captive. We stand in solidarity with them in their plight and take their suffering to the Lord in prayer. We pray for their immediate release and that Israel will be victorious against terror. We pray for an end to the conflict and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Thank you for praying with us today.
