Following the announcement that Paraguay will be moving its embassy to Jerusalem, another South American country is making a similar move.
Uruguay said it will open an office in Jerusalem to “advance cooperation in the innovation arena.”
While it isn’t an embassy, it is still a step in the right direction to recognising the importance of Jerusalem to Israel and the Jewish people.
The announcement was made during a meeting in Montevideo between Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and his Uruguayan counterpart Francisco Bustillo and Uruguay’s President Luis Lacalle Pou.
Israel’s FM hailed the move: “We continue to strengthen the international status of Israel’s capital. Uruguay is one of Israel’s most important friends in Latin America, and the president’s decision to open an innovation office in Jerusalem will advance the relations between the countries and the economic and trade ties between us.”

The announcement came just one day after Paraguay announced it would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital Jerusalem. You can read more about that story here.
We are pleased to see South American countries taking a bold stand in recognising the truth! Jerusalem is the capital of Israel – past, present and future. It is historically accurate, Biblically truthful and the present day reality.
This year, we want to do more to bless Israel and the Jewish people.
We know that as we bless Israel this year, God will bless us, just as He promised in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Now is the time to bless Israel and the Jewish people.
