There is a report that the Iranian supreme leader sent $4 billion (£3.3 billion) to his son in Venezuela. If true, this highlights the corruption of the dictators of Iran who are living lives of luxury while their people struggle.

Ali Khamenei is the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He is both the spiritual leader of the country and the man who dictates the politics of Tehran. Presidents and politicians may be elected in the country, but the candidates are all hand-picked by Khamenei and submit to his authority.

This dictatorship creates a power disparity that gives the elite few a large amount of power while everyday citizens have little influence on their country’s government.

Iran has recently been experiencing nationwide protests against Khamenei’s corrupt regime. Wages are reducing, inflation is pushing prices up, and the sanctions on the country are crippling its economy. The people are fed up with Iran’s policy of “Death to Israel”. Instead they want the Iranian government to care more about the Iranian people than the Palestinians.

While the citizens of Iran are suffering, however, the leaders of Iran are living lives of luxury. It is therefore no surprise that there are now reports that Iran’s leader allegedly sent a wire transfer of $4 billion to his son’s personal account.

According to a translation of the document by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the transfer request was sent by Mohammadi Golpayegani, Chief of Staff of Khamenei’s office, to Dr. Ali Saleh-Abadi, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran.

The letter read: “In light of the current crisis in the country and the extensive wave of rioting by antirevolutionary elements and rioters across the country, and the security institutions’ declaration of a Level Orange alert, your honor is requested to transfer the sum of $4 billion (US) [sic] from the state treasury to the personal account of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei at the Central Bank of Venezuela, in Venezuela.”

On February 12, Hamid Mutashar, founder of the Ahvazi Liberal Party tweeted a picture of the letter.

There is speculation that the letter is a fake. And the Jerusalem Post, which reported on the letter, has said it has so far been unable to verify the authenticity of the letter.

However, one thing we do know for certain is that the Iranian regime has an expressed aim to destroy the nation of Israel. Iran seeks a nuclear weapon which it wants to use on Israel. The West has appeased Iran by sending tens-of-billions-of-dollars to the rgime, money which it is not using to better the lives of its people but instead money that is being used to bolster its terrorism and military activities in the region.

Importnatly, Venezuela is a key part of this operation as Hezbollah, the terror group that is run by Iran and is based in Lebanon, also has a strong presence in South America, particularly Venezuela. Even if this document is fake, we do know that Venezuela is a location for Hezbollah’s criminal drugs operations. These drugs are distributed and sold throughout America and Europe, and generate hundreds of millions in cash for the Iranian regime each year.

It is not much of a stretch to think that the corrupt dictator of Iran, who has used billions of his people’s money for his personal gain in the past, is also funding his son’s lavish lifestyle in Venezuela.

This year, we want to do more to bless Israel and the Jewish people.

We know that as we bless Israel this year, God will bless us, just as He promised in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Now is the time to bless Israel and the Jewish people.
