Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the UN after UNESCO voted to remove the connection between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount.
He said the following:
“The theatre of the absurd continues at the UN.
Today UNESCO adopted its second decision this year denying the Jewish people’s connection to the Temple Mount, our holiest site for over three thousand years.
What’s next? A UNESCO decision denying the connection between peanut butter and jelly? Batman and Robin? Rock and roll?
Is it any wonder the UN has become a moral farce when UNESCO, the UN body tasked with preserving history, denies and distorts history?
Israel will continue to fight the lies, hatred and double standards at the UN.
Israel will prevail because truth will prevail.”
The Times of Israel reports him as also saying, “To say that Israel has no connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is like saying that China has no connection to the Great Wall of China, and Egypt has no connection to the pyramids. With this absurd decision UNESCO erases the little legitimacy left to it.”
The mayor of Jerusalem stated, “Would UNESCO vote to deny the Christian connection to the Vatican? Or the Muslim connection to Mecca?”
We quite agree, the vote was absurd.

אז מילא שהם לא קוראים תנ”ך אבל אני מציע לחברי אונסק״ו לבקר בשער טיטוס ברומא, שם רואים מה הביאו הרומאים לרומא לאחר שהם החריבו ובזזו את בית המקדש בהר הבית לפני 2000 שנה. רואים שם חרוט על שער טיטוס את מנורת שבעת הקנים שזהו הסמל של העם היהודי ואני אומר לכם גם הסמל של מדינת היהודים בימינו. תכף אונסק״ו יגיד שגם הקיסר טיטוס עסק בתעמולה ציונית.
לומר שלישראל אין קשר להר הבית ולכותל, זה כמו לומר שלסין אין קשר לחומה הסינית, ולומר שלמצרים אין קשר לפירמידות. בהחלטה האבסורדית הזאת אונסק”ו איבד את מעט הלגיטימיות שנשארה לו.
אבל אני מאמין שהאמת ההיסטורית יותר חזקה, והאמת תנצח. ואנחנו עוסקים היום באמת.

The theater of the absurd continues at UNESCO. Today UNESCO adopted a bizarre decision that denies the Jewish people’s connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.They haven’t read the Bible. I suggest that UNESCO members visit the Arch of Titus in Rome where it is possible to see what the Romans brought to Rome after they destroyed and looted the Temple Mount 2,000 years ago.
One can see engraved on the Arch of Titus the seven-branched menorah that is the symbol of the Jewish people and the symbol of the Jewish state today.
Soon UNESCO will say that the Emperor Titus was dealing with Zionist propaganda.
