French dairy giant Danone has entered into a strategic investment agreement with Israeli startup Wilk, which could lead to a collaboration with the food tech firm to develop cultured breast milk components for infant formula based on its cell technology.

Wilk is one of few companies on the world stage in the cultured breast milk sector. Wilk’s offering could be a welcome alternative for mothers who prefer to give human milk to their baby, but face difficulties breastfeeding. It could also be useful for babies born prematurely and for babies who are unable to digest commercial infant formula.

Wilk said it is not necessarily looking to replace infant formula, but to contribute to a product that is better nutritionally and with a cost comparable to formula.

Danone Manifesto Ventures (DMV), the corporate venture arm set up by the Paris-based food giant, will invest $2 million, leading a $3.5 million financing round announced by Wilk, in a filing to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Monday.

Danone is one of Europe’s leading food brands with products from Activia, Actimel, Volvic and Evian, including others.

This new deal means there will be even more products for the anti-Israel haters to boycott. They are limiting the number of products they can enjoy simply because they hate Israel. And they are losing the battle as Israel continues to see investment from around the world.

Let’s pray these business ventures continue to prosper Israel and the companies that choose to embrace innovation will not be cowed by hatred of those seeking to damage Israel.
