Danny Danon, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, gave an interview on Israeli TV this week, explaining Israel’s stand at the UN and how countries are becoming more open to Israel.
Ambassador Danon is based in New York at the UN headquarters but is currently back in Israel hosting a delegation of 40 UN Ambassadors from various countries around the world. Danon believes that these trips are “game-changers” that help to change opinion on Israel and result in more countries siding with Israel at the UN.
He also explained that while Israel tries to make a positive impact at the UN, the Palestinians carry out “diplomatic terrorism” as they attack Israel and attempt to derail discussions at the global body.
Despite these attempts, Danon says that “more and more countries understand that we (Israel) care more about the Palestinians than the leaders of the Palestinians themselves”.
