“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

It is the words of King Solomon that teach both Jews and Christians the wisdom of raising your children, yet it is the site at which Solomon built the first Temple, and the hysterical lies which surround it, which has sparked great conflicts in recent weeks. Could the truth of Proverbs 22:6 be playing out in this latest uprising?

Proverbs 22:6 reminds us that we must teach our children the Godly way in which they should live their lives. We do our utmost to instil in our children good moral standards, to teach them love, patience, kindness and respect and what is right and wrong according to God’s Word.

In every society we can see the effects of good and bad parenting. There are some parents, teachers and religious leaders, however, who take bad influence to the extreme.

Sadly, this is the case for many young people growing up in the Palestinian Territories. Here are just a few examples:

Here is a video released by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). While most parents wouldn’t even entertain the notion of letting their child hold a knife, especially one of that size, this child is not only being allowed to hold it, but is being encouraged to use it to stab Jews.

Her innocent smile and cute voice utters the heart wrenching words, “I want to stab a Jew”. Her father, who encourages her in the video, is a school teacher in a refugee camp in Jordan. He is not only teaching his own child to hate (and want to kill) Jews, but he also has influence over many children as part of his profession.

While you may think a teacher with these views is an isolated thing, the UN Watch uncovered at least twelve Facebook pages run by UNWRA schools which incite anti-Semitism. You can read more about this here. It shows that even UN run schools are promoting this hate, and being paid for by British taxpayers.

In this next video a newborn baby is presented to the world along with this unique name, “Knife of Jerusalem”. His parents gave him this name to show their support for the ‘knife intifada’ that is currently taking place in Jerusalem.

Interestingly, they got the name from a song, “Lovers of Stabbing”, which was playing on TV while they were talking about a name. Since this “knife intifada” began, there have been several songs that are played widely in Palestinian territories that encourage Palestinians to stab Israelis.

In a recent children’s show on a Palestinian TV channel, the child host praised the Palestinians who stabbed Israelis as heroes. “We revere the young heroes who have sacrificed their lives for Jerusalem and who carried out all those great heroic acts.”

This is nothing new. There have been children’s programme after children’s programme in the Palestinian Territories that incite hatred and violence against Israel and the Jewish people.

Here is a video of children in Gaza graduating from kindergarten/pre-school. They are marching with Hamas terrorist uniforms and declaring “Jihad” and “Death for Allah” when asked what their path and aspirations are. The video was taken in 2007.

And here is another from May 2014, where they are taught to throw stones at the Jews. Another girl says she wants to become a police officer so she can “shoot all of the Jews”.

In a recent TV interview, the mother of a terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack on a bus in Jerusalem said she wanted all of her children to follow in his footsteps. She then went on to say that even she herself would do the same, whilst pulling out a knife concealed in her clothing and making threats to Israel.

When parents are praising the heinous crimes of their children and wishing for their other children to repeat those acts, you know something is wrong.

In this next video a Muslim Sheik is teaching children about martyrdom at the Al-Aqsa Mosque Summer Camp.  A passer by, a Muslim man, talks to the Sheik and tells him that what he is doing is wrong.

As the man does so, the children are encouraged to start chanting “Allahu Akbar”. They then continue, with encouragement, to chant things such as, “Jews – the army of Muhammad will return,” and “There is not god but Allah, and the martyr is beloved by Allah.”

It was 2008 when some of the first videos emerged of children’s Summer camps in which Palestinian children were being being taught to hate Jews. An 11-year-old boy attending one of those camps said, “I am learning how to kill Jews.”

Seven years on, that 11-year-old boy is now an 18-year-old man – the same age as the vast majority of Palestinians who within recent weeks have carried out deadly stabbing attacks on innocent Israelis or participated in violent protests and confrontations with Israeli soldiers.

The recent attacks on Israelis have constantly been thrown back in Israel’s face as their own fault. There have been some outrageous claims that these stabbing attacks on innocent Israelis are a “natural consequence of ‘occupation’”. This is wrong.

Children are impressionable, making them fertile ground to sow hate. And the people of influence over them know this. For many years they have been carefully cultivating these children, planting seeds of hate and fear and filling their minds with lies and fallacies. And these beliefs have grown and grown within these children.

All it took was one more false and hysterical claim that Israel wanted to change the status quo on the Temple Mount. The years of teaching hate yielded the desired harvest; violence on the streets of Israel that we see today.

There will be no end to the violence if Palestinians continue to teach their children to hate. However, those influencers have no desire to stop feeding hatred until they reach their ultimate goal; the destruction of Israel. A futile aim that will never be achieved.
