An Israeli Arab has taken to social media to challenge the Guardian newspaper over an article that failed to accurately explain Israel’s security fence. 

The article focusing on “walls within cities” all over the world, included paragraphs on Israel’s “wall” between east Jerusalem and the West Bank, yet didn’t include any information at all on the security reasons prompting its construction.  The Guardian article did manage to explain the security concerns motivating the erection of walls in Baghdad.

UK Media watch decided to tweet the author of the article, an independent journalist named Ellie Violet Bramley. The tweet resulted in UK Media Watch being blocked by the journalist, but prompted an Israeli Arab named Yahya Mahamed (@3moYahya), to take to YouTube to call upon the Guardian newspaper to explain why the “wall” is a much needed security fence to prevent deadly terrorist attacks.
